At Hope, ushers assist people attending church to locate a seat and direct worshipers during Communion. Ushers are ministers of hospitality — Always with a smile! Ushers are dedicated to assisting the pastors and participants in providing an efficient, orderly Christian experience at every service and event at Hope Lutheran Church.
The Need
Ushers greet those who enter the doors to Hope’s Sanctuary. They are the face of Hope, a sign of what’s in store for all those who enter, both members and visitors. During Communion, they assist with directing an orderly flow of worshippers to/from Communion. Ushers may help with seating members and visitors at services or for events with high attendance or assist those with special needs. They serve efficiently and warmly, with dignity and reverence, caring and helpful hearts. They represent our welcoming God!

Who can join?
If you are a “people person,” have the gift of hospitality, and would like to help make all God’s children feel welcome and special, consider becoming an usher. Both men and women are needed. You can be a full-time or seasonal resident.
What's the time commitment?
Time commitment varies by location and service time. Each service has an usher lead who works with their teams to schedule the ushers. We also have a need for ushers for special services and events i.e. Christmas Cantata, Christmas services, Holy Week, etc.
