Hope for the Future Scholarship

The Hope for the Future Scholarship is yet another way for us to share God’s blessings with the community.  By supporting this ministry and through your generosity we are able to invest in the future of the youth of our community and support their education.  Many families struggle financially making it a challenge to provide quality education for their children.

The Hope for the Future Scholarship provides more than financial support to young graduates; it also offers the opportunity to accompany them in their journey by providing mentors from the Hope community as well.  High school seniors graduating from the Tri-County area high schools who meet our selection criteria receive a $1000 scholarship as well as the support of a personalized mentor who can accompany them in their journey.

The first-year assistance is offered to students who have achieved a satisfactory academic record, graduated, and are accepted to a college, university, or trade school to prepare for a future career.  Our program is unique in that it pairs each recipient with a mentor to help them adjust to the next phase of their education with regular discussions about any concerns and issues they may be facing.  Our objective is to maximize the opportunities for student success.  Our mentors from Hope Lutheran Church are available to pray for and with the students as they transition to a new environment.

You must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater. This must be verified by your high school.

You must plan to attend an accredited college, university, or a trade school.

You must be a full-time student if attending college, or taking the prescribed course of study if enrolled in a technical school. 

You must reside in the Florida counties of Lake, Marion or Sumter and must be graduating from one of the following high schools: The Villages Charter School, Lake Weir High School, Belleview High School, or Wildwood High School.
