The Communion and Rite of Healing Team members assist the Pastors with the distribution of Holy Eucharist and administration of the Rite of Healing during regularly scheduled worship and other special services. At some services one communion server also serves as Worship Assistant. This role may involve the lighting and extinguishing of candles, doing the reading, and leading prayers and the Creed.
The Need
This is a vital worship ministry. With so many services each week attended by so many worshippers, the Pastors need the assistance of lay persons to serve Communion, and to administer the blessing and anointing of the Rite of Healing. Serving Communion includes a provision for those requesting gluten-free wafers, and blessings for children and others who may not want to receive the host and/or wine. Many hands make light work, and more team members are always needed and welcome.
