The Blessing of the Animals team plans and orchestrates this once a year event held in October. The “blessing service” is Hope Lutheran Church’s gift to all persons with pets as a part of their family in the community. All household pets with paws, claws, fur and feathers are invited to attend (sorry, no snakes are allowed). Pets on leashes/in carriers receive a blessing along with those with pictures of ill or now-departed pets.
Part of the event includes having your picture taken with your pet. The photo is mailed to you after the event. We take monetary donations for the local humane society and dog/cat food donations for our Hope Lake Weir Food Pantry.

What's the time commitment?
Volunteers who work on the day of the event are asked to come in for a meeting in September. Volunteers are also needed to distribute flyers throughout the community prior to the event.
