Blessing Bags

The Blessing Bags provide basic, vital essentials to those struggling with homelessness or hunger in our local community. These bags are offered without judgement by our caring volunteers. While preparing our Blessing Bags, we keep in mind the teachings of our Lord: “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” – Matthew 25:40. We are compelled by Christ to serve those in need in our community, and we do so as humble servants of the Lord.

What’s a Blessing Bag?
Blessing Bags are gallon-sized plastic bags stuffed to the brim with essentials like food, toiletries, socks, paper and pens, and even first-aid items. Volunteers pack the bags with donated items and arrange for distribution or pick up.
How Can You Help?
The Blessing Bag Ministry is always seeking new volunteers! If you’d like to make a real difference in the lives of our homeless or struggling neighbors.  Volunteers are asked to commit two hours per month to support the ministry.

Can’t volunteer? Monetary donations are always accepted and will be used to buy life-saving items for the Blessing Bags. Simply label your next church offering “for Blessing Bags” and the money will be assigned to the ministry. Or donate supplies:

  • Water Bottles (flat type)
  • Small Toothpaste Tubes
  • Toothbrushes
  • Combs
  • Shampoo
  • Protein Bars (without too much chocolate or peanut butter, which could melt!)
  • Socks

Place supplies in the bin marked: Blessing Bags in the Hope Central Campus donation hallway.
